We had a pretty bad ice storm this past week. We missed almost a whole week of school. I have lived in this area for about 25 years and I don't remember ever missing that much school because of snow or ice (although I could be wrong). Every little blade of grass, ever tree branch...it was all covered in ice. It was so beautiful, but it was definitely destructive. We couldn't believe all of the destruction when we finally left the house. We lost power for about 2 1/2 days, but luckily had a gas fireplace and a little camping stove. We had fun "camping" at the house, but we were so thankful to get it back.
K didn't know what to think about walking on the crunchy ice at 1st, but after we showed her she could eat it, she was all about it. She also loved to take big pieces off and smash it (like her daddy showed her).
After the ice came, we had a small layer of snow. The icy grass below made it look like we had a yard full of pebbles.
